The center of the Gospel is that a new nation has been inaugurated. This new nation has its own citizenship, its own politics, and its own ruler. This nation is called the Kingdom of God. The danger is that this nation and the nation of the world you live in are rivals. This danger got a lot of the early church killed.

The message of Jesus was treason. It still is… we’ve just forgotten.
